Default Aerosol carbs vs 4500 vs 4150

Guys, I will be looking to buy a larger carb. Thinking about a 1250 cfm. I have looked at the Holley Dominator 1250 carbs. Probably from Pro Systems. But also thinking about a 1250 rated 4150 series carb. Or maybe an aerosol carb. Anyone ever do any direct comparison? I dont know anyone with aerosol carb experience. In my limited knowledge the 4500 flange moves the venturi more in line with the runnera but thats just my thinking. Whats you thoughts?

Roger at C&S Specialties has many many years of experience with aerosol carbs.

You should talk to him and get his views on aerosol carbs with gas and alcohol.
He builds a first class Blow-thru carb both in the 850/1000 Holley carb size and in the Dominator Sizes.

Talk to a REAL CARB PROFESSIONAL on that subject.
Roger has been able to make his aerosol nozzle carbs work very well after 30 years+ in the game.

Sorry for not knowing, what's your combo? Why do you feel you need a 1250?

Combo will be
535. 11.7 to 1 comp.
CV1 Heads flow 400@ .800 lift (dont have mid lift numbers ) please no CV1 wars..lol..
SR. 276/284 @.050 .455/.450 lobe lift.
1.8 ratio Shaft rockers. (.810/.819 lift before lash)
Single 4bbl manifold. Ported to match heads.
Currently I have 2" headers which may be a restriction. I have a set of 2-1/4" headers but not designed for a Firebird so I will have to move some tubes to use.

Using a formula from another thread
CID x RPM x V.E. / 2820 = CFM gives me 1229 cfm. I also spoke with a friend who ran a 535 with less cylinder head, he stated it ran best with a 1250. Thats my thought process. But i am interested in what others have done, their experiences so I can make the best decision. i would rather not have to buy more than 1 carburator ..lol..

Probaby about half and half street/track. But honestly I can put up extreme street manners. As long as it doesnt run hot on a drive.

1150-1250 is probably right in the ball park imo.
Fyi Paul K on here gets killer pricing on quick fuel/holley stuff. Might be worth checking with him
