Oh, I see! I saw the aluminum look and assumed it was the bearing. Then I realized an aluminum block, DUH. So is the bearing then fed through a series of holes in the bearing or an elongated slot such as the FM bearings? Looks like a fancy set-up for sure. No doubt the Pontiac oiling system needs help in this area.
Different ways to attack the problem.

The bearing has 2 extra holes in it about 5/8 of a inch from the center hole. Other than that pretty much a stock bearing.

Thumbs up

Looking Good. Like the slot in the main saddle. I also have an IA2 aluminum block. I didn't do that particular mod, however I did open up the transition hole in the block and the FM bearing hole size is bigger in the middle.

I'd leave the Camaro body panels on and watch the puzzled looks when they are looking at the motor!

i have an old Chevy power book that shows similar mods for the racing aluminum V6/90 Bow tie block. Although the whole saddle is slotted .150 wide .150 deep and they recommend two 1/8 holes on each side of the normal bearing hole-5 holes. recommended if sustained periods of over 7500 rpm.

Thanks. I'm fortunate to know Chris Accors who in my opinion is one of the best radial tire chassis men on the planet. That rear is actually for a mustang.

You did well buying Mary's car. (Marty's wife).

The car was a car that they owned for a LONG, LONG time and was well cared for.

Very cool and well built car. I had to make a choice between buying Marty’s GTO and my 70 TA. I chose the TA just because I’ve always wanted a 70-72 TA. It’s nice to see it being updated. The wheels look great!

I appreciate all the kind comments. Best way to explain where the car was 9 second back side and 7 second up front. Marty street drove the car and there was no point in doing what I have done. He had a tune in the car that made it drivable like that. He has been a great man to deal with and is interested in seeing where it goes from here. I will update on this as things move forward. Working on 2 cars at one time is a terrible idea. Never do this lol
