Default 1970 Judge RA3 wire routing

Hi all,

New here. I have a question about wire routing from starter to battery and alternator. I had a new clutch installed and new motor mounts. The shop routed the wires under the motor mount, thinking it was too hot above and nearer to the manifold. Now, the wires to the top of intake where the sensor shown here is unable to reach. My sensor is broken but I was hoping to find one and get it connected. I'm thinking I need to have them re-route the wires or do this myself.

Also not sure what this device is and where I can source one.

What do you think?

Yes, they still come up the front. Problem is it is a longer route and too short if I am able to fix this sensor.

The second is another struggle with the proper routing of the wires. I'm going to have the shop take another stab at getting them to fit properly and suggest batter cable at least go to the top side of the motor mount. It has a heat tube to protect it. Less sure about the starter bundle.

Sounds like your vehicle wiring is not a Judge/RA3 unit.

Well it fit before the motor mounts were changed and re-routed. What makes you say that.

On a 1970 RA engine the engine harness and battery cable are supposed to be routed UNDER the engine mount.

Ah, ok. that's good to know. I found one picture showing the wires BEFORE the mounts were changed has them going over the mount and through it. Maybe this is just a matter of dressing the wires as I am close to being able to make the connection, assuming I have a new sensor.

Just trying to figure out why the wires are too short now...

Thanks for the diagrams! I confirmed all the routing is correct, I just needed to redress the wires into better position. Now to find that TCS sensor.

You might be missing the small jumper harness for the water temperature sensor….required for a factory gauge car

No factory gauges. It just needed to be worked into position better.
