Buffing Coker tires sidewalls
Since it appears that Coker will never come out with a U.S. Royal Super Safety 800-XP I thought about having the segment or pie cutter lines buffed off my Coker redlines. Has anyone else thought about doing this? I know others that have buffed the manufacturer's names or tire style off and they look awesome. I think that doing this to the Coker redline would make them more correct appearing. Thoughts?

I don't see this as being a safety issue. I see this more as an appearence issue. If this is not done right it will look like hell.
Do you have someone that has the equipment to do it? |

There's a local company that does it mostly for the street rod guys since it makes them look vintage.

Hi Rob,
A “version” of an OEM Redline Tire for 1966. I pulled this spare tire mounted on a Rally I Wheel about 45 years ago from a wrecking yard. It came from a Black 66 GTO and had never been used. Last pic are the tires on my 66. Chris.

Thanks Chris, that’s where I got the idea to buff the Coker from the picture you posted. Are the tires on your 66 Coker’s?

They are Coker’s, but that name is not on the sidewalls.
Purchased on 9/10/10 from Summit.
