Regarding hoods and noise levels.... The original owner(I'm the 2nd) removed the block off plate from the shaker.... You can really hear the carb while driving.... It's almost annoying IMO... Maybe I'm getting old.. LOL

Take out the stock air filter and run a K&N filter and you really here the carb noise. It's not a big deal to me as I like to listen to the motor while I'm driving. Best song I ever heard. IMO.

Default Car Craft Article

My SD Trans Am is in the most recent issue of Car Craft. Article was originally written for High Performance Pontiac magazine about the time it went under. To my surprise it came out in Car Craft instead. I'll try and post the link: http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehi...social32809766

Very nice article!

Brooklyn, NY was a surprise place for the SD to find it's way?

I saw your burn out video on Facebook this morning too.

4 speed vs auto I'd say not twins. I'd say nice pair of Brewster/ cloth SDs

Default 1973 green sd-455

Looked at the pics of this car........ is it correct that the vin stamp on the block is N144932..... shouldn't it be 23N144932 ?? Has anyone seen other vin stamped blocks missing the 2 numbers before the letter like this one?

I DON'T SEE 23 BEFORE THE N .... I SEE N144932 WHICH LOOKS LIKE A LEGIT ORIGINAL BLOCK VIN STAMPING.....JUST MISSING THE 23. WHAT I'M ASKING IS THERE ALWAYS THE TWO NUMBERS BEFORE THE N? I KNOW N STANDS FOR NORWOOD. VAN NUYS BUILD WOULD BE AN L...I THINK

Yes it should have the '23' before the plant designator (N is this instance)

Here is the pic blown up some ( I added my interpretation to it):

BTW, there are 2 SD cars with the engine VIN off by one that are in the Registry.
