1968 Firebird gas pedal set up
My 68 firebird project did not come with a gas pedal. Wondering what the best set up would be ? the six cylinder pedal and throttle cable or the pedal with the throttle rod and metal brackets? I will be running a pontiac 400 with a holley carburator. Thanks Jim

I'm running a cable between the carb and firewall. Car came equipped this way. Not sure if stick vs auto trans plays a factor in the type of throttle/pedal set up they get at the factory. Mine is an automatic.

Ok thanks wasn’t sure if the cable was long enough for the holley but sounds like it is if anyone has a complete set up pedal cable etc I’d be interested

Lokar has a direct fit pedal assembly and comes as a complete kit. They also have a complete bracket kit for a 4150 series carb.
My current Bird is a western car and the plastic pedal bracket on the firewall shattered into pieces. The Lokar pedal kit is very high quality and fits perfectly. A bit pricey, but it was worth it to me. The pedal looks at home with the other pedals. Amazon and Speedway have it. |
