Default 1968 Firebird gas pedal set up

My 68 firebird project did not come with a gas pedal. Wondering what the best set up would be ? the six cylinder pedal and throttle cable or the pedal with the throttle rod and metal brackets? I will be running a pontiac 400 with a holley carburator. Thanks Jim

I'm running a cable between the carb and firewall. Car came equipped this way. Not sure if stick vs auto trans plays a factor in the type of throttle/pedal set up they get at the factory. Mine is an automatic.

Lokar has a direct fit pedal assembly and comes as a complete kit. They also have a complete bracket kit for a 4150 series carb.

My current Bird is a western car and the plastic pedal bracket on the firewall shattered into pieces. The Lokar pedal kit is very high quality and fits perfectly. A bit pricey, but it was worth it to me. The pedal looks at home with the other pedals.
Amazon and Speedway have it.
