Default Cam profiles for boost

It would be good to discuss cam profiles for boost on a street engine. Lets say low boost (less than 8) with a roller or hyd roller cam. With the availability of low cost belt driven blowers its time to get the info posted.

JMO In very general terms for 8 psi (super charger) cam verses an N/A cam. A couple more degrees LSA, a couple of degrees less cam advance, and about 6 degrees more exhaust duration.

Here's two custom centrifugal supercharger cams that I had ground for my old 406 back in 2011. Two different approaches for the same motor. These both are HFT, I didn't proceed and stuck with nitrous...

I get the first one but the second doesn't look like I would expect a blower profile to look like.

As for profiles, I have started using the HLO and HUC lobe families (CompCam) for boosted motors. A recent customer had valvetrain damage with his previous cam - he was sold a cam with LSK lobes, and this was a motor putting 1,000+ to the wheels!

Overall design, boosted motors don't need much intake duration, and very little overlap. I open the exhaust valve sooner with supercharged motors, and even a bit earlier with turbo motors.

X2 Less overlap is good for boosted motors, Thats how I run.

Pick whatever cam you would like NA and add boost, it will just make more power. For an all-out race motor go custom.
