Default Building a driver

Thought I'd start a new thread documenting my 68 rebuild. Not calling it a restoration because this car is not numbers matching and will be driven often. The body is at a friends shop on a spare frame while I finish the chassis/drivetrain.

Are you going with aftermarket or oem type stuff? Looks like your working with a very solid body.

I've collected parts for a few years. The only aftermarket parts that I plan to use is a radiator support and inner fender wells. The new front valance may also be worth a look although I have a few originals

Interesting, I'll be watching for sure ...as my "restoration" gets closer to a driver every time I start figuring up costs

I'll be watching as well. I'm trying to keep my restoration as original as possible but "Mission Creep" is an ongoing battle.

you may want to air-nibble the lower Firewall and Fenders to let the leaves flow out freely. I did.

I understand the theory but I'm not exactly sure where or to what extent you would open it up

Not sure what numbers matching has to do with any restoration? Good luck and look forward in watching progress.

Its economics. ...... Numbers matching ram air car special edition vehicle etc are worth more Therefore it's easier to justify big spend on the resto. I deleted the AC went from auto to for speed driver

Good luck with the build! Inspiring pics for me as I’ve got a ‘68 I’ll eventually get to. Subscribed!
