Default Build Sheet found in the 78 Catalina Safari parts car

I was asked to post the Build Sheet I found behind the Drivers Door Panel, it lists quite a few options on the car. The big Bonus for me is the 3.23 rear axle. The only thing that would make it better would be if it was a limited slip. But it will be a big improvement over the 2.78 axle in my fathers wagon.

Also the Small A/C Compressor is called out as CH2 COMP 4 CYL.

Does anyone know what **24X BIG 4-BLUE ** indicates?

My guess is it is some sort of zone or area specific option package?

I seemed to have misplaced the rework sticker that was attached to the top center of the build sheet, were it is slightly discolored .

To bad the cars interior is trashed, it sure was loaded drive train and interior wise. But the exterior is very plain, only a chrome drivers side rear view mirror, dog dish hub caps, & no roof rack or rear window air deflector.

Those codes at the end are color codes. The 24 is the color followed by the location, X. X is dash, kick panels, package tray, etc. So it's letting the builder know it needs color code 24 for the dash and kick panels.

If it was a 2-tone car, the upper and lower U & L and "middle" for an M - usually things like cars with decals or accents on the doors, like the safari woodgrain.

Thanks Ben, That makes sense. At least it confirms the car was originally a Montana car as the P/O stated it was.

I will say it's really cool to see the build sheets from these different plants with the codes being very similar, yet the text being a little different on the options. And when you see the build sheets, it ultimately says everything you need to know about how the car was made.

I do find it amusing that it was a VERY well equipped car... except for the wheels and passenger side mirror. Of all the things not to order...??
