As far as I know SMS is about your only choice for a '61 Ventura. https://smsautofabrics.com

Did they make the emblem-or whatever it is called on the top of the seat covers? The one that looks like the grille of a 61pontiac?

They do the imbossed logos, they ARE the best! You wont be disappointed and the wait will be worth it.I just bought the cover materials and had them sown and installed local.Pretty sure if you want the correct stuff is not avail from anyone else. There used to be another guy that did the stuff but think he retired.Tom

Pic attached of my Pop's interior with SMS seat covers and door panels. Be patient, they do take a long time. In our case we sent the original seat covers to them and they made new ones using the old for patterns.

Default SMS Upholstery

I bought a complete interior for a '63 Catalina sedan. It is outstanding!

Working through a problem with fit on the upper backs of the front seats.

Next time I would probably get the material and have it sown locally - looooong lead time and then wait some more!

I suspect it's like any special skill - not enough people that can do the work.

Not all all trashing - just saying.

I got new door panels from them, along with some extra material by the yard that I used to recover the armrests and a few other parts. The door panels did take a long time but the material was sent reasonably fast.

You are correct!!! I haven’t got an answer back from them yet.. I do want the interior correct! Another question-steering wheel rebuild, its a burgundy/clear wheel. I have two quotes seems kind of expensive but maybe they aren’t $1950.00 Any suggestions?

There's a guy in Sweden who recasts wheels and is supposed to be pretty good: https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...d.php?t=837945 Note that for clear wheels, if the steel inner rim needs to be rechromed that will add substantially to the cost.

I have a question about SMS lead time. I am used to long lead times for custom parts and plan accordingly. So for a set of front and rear Ventura tri-color seat covers, bench seats with the embossed logo. Are we talking about 6 month lead?, a year?, 2 years? Just would like a realistic estimate. Thanks.

If you get the material and have them sewn local it will be quicker.Door panels depending on when they are running 61s.My 61 door panels came within a month or two.My 63 Ventura took as I remember almost a year. And as I said they lie!Be the PITA and check on them at least once a month.Tom

Default SMS Auto Fabrics

SMS told me it would take 5 months to make seat covers for my 62 Tempest wagon. They lied. I received new covers a few weeks ago after waiting over 14 months. They do really nice work but you need to have patience. Sent them original covers to use as patterns. Cost was $1700.
