There were a few, 1966 Tri-Power Race Cars that had the Ram Air Pan and the rubber hose you mentioned that went to a special fitting on the front carb. I still have I think 3 of those special race fittings designed to use the Hose vs the aluminum line over the top of the front carb. So it IS POSSIBLE to have a correct rubber hose over the top of a 66 Carb going to the fuel filter set-up.

Anyone know why Pontiac changed the routing from 65 to 66, putting the filter on top. Easier to hook up at the factory? Filter got too hot on '65 set ups?

Regarding the rubber hose from filter to front carb i have found the early built 66īs got a short 90° aluminium tube line for the hose going around the front carb to filter.
Later on they got the long fuel line from the filter around the carb to the front carb fitting. My car is built in november 65 and got the short line. 1966 Tripower w/RA uses a lower brass 90° "swivel" fitting for the hose going around the front carb. |
