I've got a '64 GTO 389/348 with a leaking header gasket. It has stock tri-power heads, but I don't know if they are D port heads or round port heads. I'd like to get the new gasket before removing the header; does anyone know whether these heads are D port or round port?

Your '64 GTO has the 'D' port heads. If it has the original '64 389 GTO engine it should have the 9770716 casting # on the two center exhaust ports.

Round-port heads are rare and were only produced between '68 and '74, 99% of all Pontiacs have 'D' port heads.

Let's go racing!
