It's black .
Not sure if I like black or white better . It has black interior so black probably looks best.

I agree, the '69 Liberty Blue is one of my favorite colors on these cars.

I really like the black top and black interior, it goes well together. I'm sure a white top with parchment interior would be nice too. Cant say that I've ever seen one in that color combo.

that color blue looks great with all different combos:
black guts and top
dark blue guts and top
light blue guts and dark blue top or black top not sure what light blue top would look like
and the stop you in your tracks is the white guts and white top, but would age probably the quickest.

dont forget to add the redlines.

Absolutely, redlines always look killer against any blue color!

Default another build sheet and more...

Pulled the driver's seat out today, took the back section off and to the upholstery shop to be repaired. Should have it back tomorrow afternoon. When I removed the seat back center strap from the seat bottom I found another build sheet. You can see part of it through the two holes that are covered by the strap bracket. This is exactly where I found one of them in the '70 SJ 4-speed when I took the seats apart to recover. Both are Atlanta built cars.

Power seat wire already plumbed under the seat. I'm thinking all power window cars got this and the door lock harnesses too, they were behind the door panels when I had them off.

Found a new part while vacuuming under the carpets. A new rear window switch just lying there under the jute padding next to the inside rear seat rail mounting stud. Has carpet glue splattered on it, but is otherwise like new. Ya just never know what you'll find under the original carpets that the factory left behind!

Driver's seat back repair is done. Material from SMS matched well, but the repair itself isn't perfect. Looks much better than a tear though. Got the upholstery cleaned up yesterday and drove it to a local park for some nicer pictures this morning...

WOW! Thats a nice low mile GP. Where did you find that one at? Was it still in the Oroville/Chico area?

And yes... it is an addiction

I bought the car in Placerville where the original owner's son lived. It was moved there from his Dad's garage in Chico about this time last year. A friend of the family posted the car on Craigslist. The car hadn't been ran since the last registration when they decided to non-op it. I took a chance and bought the car not running and had a friend trailer it home for me. We pushed it off the trailer, checked the fluids, poured some gas down the carb and it fired right up. Drove it around the block and right into the garage.

And there will be others in the future, I'm sure of it!

Default A little more progress...

Got the top half of the engine cleaned up pretty good. Stripped and repainted the valve covers and installed new gaskets... nice and clean under the covers. Cleaned the original plug wires with paint thinner... worked great and didn't remove the markings. Changed the plugs too, they were the older type AC's with the green rings on the stem. I don't believe they were original though (R46S), wrong heat range for the car. Car runs great and no more leaks up top.

Shot these photos with my camera phone... first time I've tried this and came out a little blurry.

Thanks Joe!

Back at ya... was nice to finally meet you in person. Enjoyed looking at your SJ too, that's a nice original car. Sounds great, lets do that.

I found a convertible front seal weatherstrip under the drivers footwell in my 69 LeMans (my car was missing that same one on the drivers side and the screwholes had never been tapped), it was under the tarpaper and flattened, it also explained why the front carpet had been replaced by the original owner back in the 70's since the bump caused a wear hole in the factory carpet.

Also found under the backseat of that same LeMans; a chunk of sheetmetal that I identified as the floor cutout from a four speed car (the factory cut the floor with a zip gun on factory 4 speeds for the shifter), I guess the car ahead or behind my LeMans was a stick car. Nothing like those Baltimore Craftsmen
