Default need tips on how to replace the headliner.

can anyone tell me exactly what i need to do in order to replace the headliner or headliner material on my 76 trans am.? also what hold up the cardbourd on this year t,a,. thanks.

Nothing but the light assemby and its two screws holds it up from the center. The backer board itself is fairly ridgid made of thin molded masonite. Most crack once removed after years of heat and cold cycles. The boardering trim holds the rest in place.

The best replacement is a molded plastic from the repop houses.There are a couple of different coverings depending on when your car was made from the repop houses..You can use a spray glue from Home depot to glue it to the board.
