Question 75 Trans am radiator replacement recomendations

I have a 75 ta that I purchased new. Sold it, long ago but recently got it back. I have had the motor rebuilt . Now the problem is the radiator. there is none, just the radiator shroud. I was looking at the champion aluminum radiators instead of the factory replacements. I need to know which part number to order? With the 400 engine I am thinking 4 core. Or would 3 core be enough with a/c? What modifications will I need to make to get it to fit into the fan shroud? Thanks.

I have a Champion 3 core. 71 T/A A/C car. Never gets past the first hash mark. No problems with fit. 455 car 10:1 compression, RA IV cam, 3.42 gears. I've done the water pump mod, Chevy truck HD fan clutch. 5 SPD. Cool as a cucumber 40,000 miles so far. It's been on 2000 mile trips. Idles long periods with A/C on, 95 degree days. So, for me no complaints, paid $175.00 shipped. Oh! 180 thermostat.

I bought one from Rock Auto and it was like the original. Great price and a perfect fit.

Check them out online.

To bad you still didnt have at least the tanks/tag. I know a guy that rebuilds them but that is only if one is concerned about the originality.

Replaced it with a 4 core and it runs 1/4 temp in 90 deg. heat. No over heating problems so far. I run a fixed blade fan set up .

it was a standard 4 core ,not aluminum radiator. I did the water pump trick with the back plate on the pump clearance. I ran a solid spacer with the stock fan, like the police did in the day. I read the thermo clutch fans cut out at 24-2800 rpm and just idle. with a solid spacer fan set up what ever the engine is turning so is the fan. I loose horse power I know, and it is supposed to be louder but haven't noticed that. But it works for me.

Stock radiator set up with a clutch fan will work fine with a 160 T stat, unless the CR is crazy high. Newer fuel means hotter engines and the 160 can help that with the water pump updates.
