Default Crazy trunk alarm

OK guys I've had this car since '05 and still can't figure out the alaram sytem's logic.

I can pop the trunk button then open it 5 minutes later the alarm goes off.
Pop it open it and load one thing,go into the house for something else and load it(even something light) it goes off.
Yesterday popped it load one head went back in to get the other one and it started going off a minute after I left.

Now you can leave the doors open and go in and out all day long and it doesn't set unless you pish the lock then manually unlock and open the door!

It's just a safety feature. When you "pop" the trunk, it doesn't really open. If you just let it sit there for 5 mins, the alarm resets itself. Pretty the same goes for the hood as well.

I figured the not really open deal out-disagree with teh design but I can live with it. But leaving it open then dropping a package in it set it off is what I really can't figure, like old alarms that had a motion sensor if the car got jacked up or shaken. Heck remember some of the alarms that would broadcast "step away form the car"!

Posted over on LS1gto and just got attitude. We have a much more helpful board over here!

Yea. That is the difference between the commercial boards and PY. No question too basic here.

It's just a spring trigger switch. Pop the hood or the trunk and it just to close the circuit but then sits back down on it as if closed. Resets, just isn't locked. If it was hooked up to a lamp it may do exactly the same. Flash when popped then go back off until opened the second time.
