Yes, it is high compression and yes it is on pump E85 that's readily available at several gas stations in our area.

Just updated it today. Of course that person posted up a time slip.

Again what does the Ventura with driver weight?

Stan
The car weighs 3318 with him in it.

I ran a Pontiac block, (only a 406) Pontiac crank, Pontiac rods, & Pontiac d-port heads.
Best I can remember, the car was 2450# without me in it. 93 octane.
That's very impressive. I realize that it's been 30+ years but do you remember the head casting # ? Approximate cam specs? What RPM did you shift? Amazing the rods didn't let go.

Thanks!

By the way, his name is Steve Caldwell. Hopefully we can get more E85 users on that list.

Maybe he had early SD or late SD forged rods. They can take a lot of abuse in a 3.75 stroke engine.
At any rate it was quite a accomplishment.
BTW,
Mr Caldwell is a very cool dude, a real racer. When his wife gets ready to launch a lot of people stand up and watch. Racer family.

Steve must be following this thread. His user name is Ventura455. His account has been suspended for several years. I think he has served his time. Can an admin restore his posting privileges? Steve has provided additional information for his combination:

461 stroker
306 CFM KRE D-ports by SD performance
13:1 compression
276/284 @ .050 with .658 lift SFT
Northwind intake
Holley 950hp carb on E85
