Default Headers on a '67 GTO

Guys, Im helping a friend. ( me doing all the work for him..lol .) Swapping the old #15 D-ports for a set of E-heads. I just removed the old heads and can not believe how rediculous it was to get to the header bolts on the back side of the 3rd tube on both sides. The drivers side was way worse. With round ports what are you guys using on the '67 GTO? I have heard that Dougs fit well but are the back tubes accessible?
Also thinking about using the RARE HO manifolds. But they are listed for the '68-'69 GTOs. Will they fit a 67? Also this is a stick shift car.

I have Doug round ports on my 65 GTO. Fairly easy to install. I think I Had to reroute the brake line on the pass side.

Any chance you could post a pic of the headers from standing at the fenders looking down at the header flanges? Sorry to be a pain. But Im sure i can get the headers on, but I dont want the owner to have a hard time with gaskets if they ever blow out.

I cut the flanges between the end and center ports and start the bolt in the flange hole as I lower the headers into place then start that one by hand first.

IF I ever have to do it again (not likely) I would do what "Barrier Blue " suggests .

Thanks guys. I appreciate the pics. I will have to make a decision. Gonna be tough. This isnt a race build so I may lean toward the ram air manifolds if they will clear the Z-Bar.

I saw a 65 with Doug's today. They are what i will most likely end up with for this car. Thanks for all the input. 👍

Headers on a 67 (or any 64-7) with a 4-speed doesn’t leave much room for anything on the DS; plan on moving brake lines and insulating the tube near the speedo cable, at least I had to with my IA 1 7/8 headers. If it isn’t a race car I’d go with the Ram Air manifolds; even then those cars had different brake lines from the factory (D-ports obviously).

I have Doug's on my '64 Tempest. Once you get them in you can get at every bolt with a box wrench.

Why go with high flowing heads and then strangle them with the exhaust manifolds?

Only one side will fit.

I don't have a picture of them in the car, but this picture will give you an idea of bolt accessibility. Once they're on, they have the best bolt accessibility of any headers I've ever run.
