Default 1971 Lemans Sport FS/FT

1971 Lemans Sport – T41 option, ps, power front disc brakes, A/C, buckets, console, 350 2 brl, turbo 350, sport mirrors, honeycombs, performance axle 3.08, Cardinal Red with Ivory interior, all original drive train and restored to as factory built. Have PHS and original dealership documents including bill of sale, protecto plate, etc… The car has been refurbished and parts replaced where needed including suspension/steering/brakes/tires. New paint and all new emblems and trim, new rear bumper and taillights, new carpet, weather stripping, etc… Original seat covers and door panels, detailed engine compartment and trunk, some spare parts. AC is complete but needs charged. Rear sway bar added, non stock radio is in stock dash location no cutting, has dash cover. A very solid car that was never molested and though not concourse very presentable in any situation. $14,750 might trade for 67 Firebird (street/strip) of equal value and condition. Would also consider 68 and 69 Firebirds. Must have very good street “manners”. Email for more pictures mailto:mcronk@harris.com 321-253-0161 or 321-794-0774.

Forgot to mention there are 2 dealer installed options on the dealer invoice. The sport mirrors and a 8 track player were installed at the dealership. The 8 track is missing but the specific heater deflector is there and the mounting holes in the console are evident.

I was struck by the color combination and the body style when I first saw the car. It really stands out. I was looking for a 67 Firebird but could not pass up the Lemans Sport. The reason I am selling is to find the Firebird I originally was looking for.

Thanks.

Trunk felt - Ames.

Thanks! If I can't find the Firebird I want I will just keep it. It always turns head and gets lots of compliments.

If you tighten up that sway bar mount bolt, the car will probably handle better. Beautiful car nontheless.

You probably did not see the post in the 70-72 tech section when I first posted the pictures. I was not finished assembling the front end and did not want to do the final torque until the car was on the ground and the weight on the suspension.

Good eye though!

Thanks.

Treat yourself to a nice Christmas present and buy Santa's sleigh!

Car needs to go as my new "project" is sitting outside.

I never noticed the 1971 fenders are different than in 1972. A quick Google search revealed some have the chrome thingies and some don't. Was it an option?

What would "Axle-Performance" code 368 on PHS be? Usually Safe-T-Track (361) is listed as such and would run you about $34.

Sounds interesting. Maybe it beefed up the gear ratio a bit?

Yep. It is the optional 3.08 gear. I believe with this engine/trans combo you got a 2 something gear.

All 72 t41 option LeMans and GTOs fenders had scoops in the lower part of the fender behind the wheel

Only 3 days left on the auction. Car will sell for a lot less than what it would take to restore a car to this level.
