alright, so i just went through the codes i found on my build sheet. i have Y88, Y92,WS6,and L30 yet to find, but here are the options my car came with. is this considered a highly optioned '70 oshawa post lemans??? also, these codes are what i came up with from search here on the forums so please correct me if i am wrong!

A02- glass tinted windshield
A90-electric trunk release
B50-bench foam cushion
B96-wheel opening mouldings
C08- soft trim roof cover
C89-dome reading light
C60-A/C
D33-LH remote mirror
D34-visor vanity mirror
JL1-pads custom metal trim
JL2-front disc brakes single piston
J50- vaccum brakes
K45-2.93 rear end
M38-th350
N30- deluxe steering wheel
N41- power steering
Pk2- G78 - 14 white wall
P01-wheel trim color
U05-dual horns
U25- luggage compartment lamp
U26-underhood lamp
U27- Glove box lamp
U28-ashtray lamp
U35- electric clock
U63-radio: AM push button

Y86- Decor group

now are most of those just standard options or do i have a nicely optioned car here?

Many of the UPCs listed above came as std equipt on a LeMans Sport (Am betting your '70 is a LeMans Sport Coupe). Wheel opening mldgs, light groups, deluxe strg wheel, pedal trim, for example, all came std with the LeMans Sport pkg. Other options, like A/C, power strg, pwr disc brakes, the vinyl roof, AM radio, trunk popper are stand alone options.

Rarity... The rarest option on this particular car would be the factory installation of the trunk release. A huge amt of '70-71 Canadian produced & Pontiac Plant (produced for Canadian shipment) LeMans had pwr disc brakes. At a minimum, the tinted W/S was required when C60 (A/C) was ordered. Most southern states V8 LeMans of this era came std with A/C & tinted glass.

Prob the rarest thing about this particular LeMans Sport is that is a 2 door Coupe that was produced in Oshawa & still exists today. Most of the Oshawa production is history. Would be interesting to find several late '70 model Coupes out of Oshawa & see how high a body number, for each body style, ie, T-37, LeMans, LeMans Sport.

i dont really think that it is a sport though, there are no sport badges and or the little grills on the sides of the fenders... there is no record of the number of post cars produced? i cant seem to find any numbers for them... Also it is a post car, no a hardtop coupe or 4 door...

also is that bermuda blue or atoll? what number should i look at, also, i have been told that i had a fairly rare interior pattern... confirm?

Whats the first 5 digits of the VIN? Do realize, it's a 2 door coupe & not a 2 door hardtop.

Will look in all my paperwork, should have a total of 23527's & 23727's built for '70.

yes. have the same pattern on my GT-37 door and rear interior panels. it's not reproduced. But Legendary can redo the panels if you send in your originals.

You might get some info on your Canadian built car by going to Canadian Poncho active board. It's all about Pontiac's that were built in Canada. Someone can help you out as well. A few of the guys worked at the GM plant.

What is the address for the Canadian forum? My car is from Oshawa and it would be nice to find out some info on it.

The style of LeMans door panels with the buttons run for several years.

Nice original 2 door hardtop door panels of the same embossed design can be modified to make 2 door coupe door panels. Have to do some careful trimming & replace the window sweepers with those made for 2 door Coupe doorpanels, that along with cutting a hole for the vent window reg handle.

Parted a '72 LeMans 2 door Coupe a while back & have its near flawless blue doorpanels... same exact embossed design panels as the ones in my '71 455HO T-37 Coupe & my 455HO GT-37. Only difference in these '72 std door panels from '71's, is the addition of the potmetal '72 LeMans emblem.

235 means the car is a LeMans not a LeMans sport.

in 60's lingo you car would have been a tempest custom

in 70 pontiac shifted the models by making the LeMans a LeMans sport and making the midlevel Custom a LeMans.

I didn't check all of the codes, but K45 is not a rear axle code.

K45 should be the Heavy Duty Air Cleaner option. Don't know how it compared to the standard Air Cleaner.

Axle ratios were coded with Gxx codes. If no "G" code listed, I assume it was built with the standard axle ratio for the combination (2 bbl 350, auto trans, A/C, etc.) with an open differential.

P01 was the Deluxe Wheel Disc option, full wheel covers. Had 6 slots, I think the ones in this auction are the Deluxe Wheel Discs.

Did you run it thru GM of Canada? For my Oshawa built 70 GTO, PHS couldn't hep me, as they don't have records on cars built outside the US. However, they put me in touch with GM of Canada "Vintage Vehicle Servives", which is basicially the same as PHS. They sent me a letter with a breakdown of all the options my car was built with (including the codes) as well as a few other odds & ends. The number I have is 888-467-6853. As well, if you are in a panic (like if you were researching a car for sale), they offer next day fax back service for a few bucks extra.

Default Vintage Vehicle Service

From the US try 1-905-440-7689. George Zapora is the man to talk to. It used to cost about $50 at one time. You can give them your VIN and pay by credit card over the phone. They will send you the list of options that originally came on the car, colours, and interior plus some other stuff. We had our Oshawa built '72 Lemans Sport done several years ago. Nice documentation to have.
