Default 455 HO SR SHORTBLOCK FOR SALE, 4 BOLT MAIN FROM FACTORY!

SELLING MY COMPLETE SR STAMPED 455 HO 4 BOLT MAIN SHORTBLOCK FROM MY TRANS AM! This is a service replacement engine that was in my 68,000 mile T/A 4 speed car when I purchased it. Block casting number is:485428
Block date is L203 (Dec. 20, 1973)
Stamp on front of block SR83709
Engine is .020 over with stock rods and pistons just as the factory would have built it back in the day!

Pontiac had a 5 year/50,000 mile warrenty back in the day and this engine would be correct to make not just your rare HO car numbers matching but any Pontiac that had a 455 installed and you now no longer have the original engine or want to make your car so much more valuable.

This was a complete running engine, .020 over, with stock internals and does not need rebuilt, did not smoke or leak when it was removed and has no ridge on the cylinders. I threw away the hydraulic cam as I was going to install a Comp hydraulic roller cam that I had from my other engine so the engine has no cam but does come with the damper and newly bead blasted front timing chain cover. The oil pan is included but otherwise the shortblock is complete.

I would estimate the engine to have no more then 20,000 to 30,000 miles on it as it was installed after 1976 and the car only has 68,000 miles on it and is a showcar. The HO heads are not included in the sale or any other parts, just the complete shortblock less cam that was in excellent running condition and did not smoke and actually ran quite well.

Great engine for the person who no longer has the matching numbers motor for thier car and is doing a restoration as this is an over the counter Service Replacement engine installed by the dealer back in the day for warrenty work and is acceptable as a correct replacement. Would be acceptable for any car built with a 455 to be a correct engine.

REMEMBER, THIS IS A FACTORY 455 HO 4 BOLT MAIN ENGINE THAT IS IN EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION AND NEEDS NOTHING BUT YOUR HEADS AND INTAKE TO MAKE YOUR HO CAR NUMBERS MATCHING!

LATE 1971 HO CARS AND ALL 1972 HO CARS USED THIS PART NUMBER BLOCK AND THIS IS AN EXTREMELY RARE PIECE!

I can crate the engine and deliver it to the shipping company of your choice here in Miami for free or you can do a local pick-up. If you purchase the engine I will hold it for you for a reasonable amount of time, just ask.

I have lots of other pictures of the engine, if you send me an email I will be glad to froward them to you. 1970ls5@bellsouth.net Dave

Price is $4500.00 OBO. Please call Dave at 305-310-3866
ZIP CODE is 33014

If you purchase the engine I will include a Comp Hydraulic Roller Cam in the deal, it has less then 5000 street miles on it and is 510/520 lift on a 110 centerline. Made 437 at the wheels in a 461 that was in a 1967 Firebird, excellent street cam with just a slight lope. Dave
