Actually, I haven't given it too much thought. Now you got me thinking.

I'm between Knoxville and Nashville, living in Crossville. Hopefully I can make some serious progress on her this winter.

Hoping to have that motor running in time to make the trip north to Atco, N.J. Haven't been there in years. I'm breaking in the motor for the wife in my 65 this year. Ran pretty good in Norwalk this year. I took the #197 heads off for some new valve seals and some port work from Bill [APD] at Mondello's. I'm going to have to invest in an intake and carburator to compliment Bill's work. Looking forward to running a couple more times this year.

All the decals for mine I got in gold with the red 2+2. No stripes but you can order two shades of gold bulk pinstripe for that. Mine is black as well.

Agreed, I'd love to see that car!! I know there are a few black Aero Coupes out there. The last one I saw was in HPP Aug. 08 a Mike Mroczek owned it.

I rebushed the door hinges now I can hang the doors on the car. Had to hit the boneyard for an upper driver door hinge. One more blocking on the doors and they should be ready for paint.

Some pictures of the hinges. They were not in very good shape. Fortunately they are pretty easy to repair.

Got the doors on. They line up pretty good. I should have trial fit them after finishing the body work. I got lucky. All that is needed is a final blocking and I will be able to paint them. The weather has been on my side, but not for much longer.

Doors are painted. Have some small plastic parts that need to be painted. The trunk lid will be next in line for restoration. The door mirrors are getting new glass. Those plastic mirrors don't age well.

Moved the aero coupe out of the paint bay. Here's a few pictures before I put her in the garage. She's finally starting to look like a car.

Thanks Stan, I'd like to think we'll have her on the track before the 2013 race season is over. I plan on using the drivetrain I used in the 65 for 2012. Still have a lot of work left. Next big adventure will be fitting some header$$. Don't want a front end on the car until that is figured out.

Got the mirrors and rear plastic pieces finished. One of the quarter extensions was cracked so I epoxied it together.

Got the tail lights and rear liscense plate assembly on the car. Mirrors and the quarter extensions are also on. Getting ready to cut out a piece of metal for a splash shield. Since I have the fuel cell in the trunk the splash shield meets safety requirements.

Thanks Chris,There isn't a piece that I took off this car that doesn't need refurbishing or replacement. The roofrail trim is pretty rough. Looks like I might be junk yard hunting in the near future. I've already got all the door gaskets. I plan on buying new door lock cylinders. Once they get rusty inside their not worth taking a chance with.

Got the splash shield in the car. I used rivets to attach it.
