My parents were still in high school and college, not even having met yet the year my cars were born.

OK, time for an old, old, old guy.

My avatar (1972 LeMans), I was a young (?) USAF Capt, just recently returned from the SE Asia war games, and settled in to my new base in Mesa AZ. Ordered it sight unseen, straight from the factory.

The reason for a Pontiac? I had to sell my '68 Firebird before I was sent overseas.

1964. I started my first job out of college, got married, and bought my '64 GTO. I paid a $400 deposit and made 36 payments at $94.89/mo.

I was trying to decide whether to buy a 1963 Studebaker Avanti or a Chebby. My Uncle was a Pontiac Dealer and said, don't buy the Avanti or the Chebby, I will get you a good deal on a Pontiac but not this year. So I started looking at 1965 Pontiacs (GTOs).

So a year later I buy a "Brass Hat" 1964 GTO Tri-Power 4 speed Convertible from my Uncle at a great deal. Still have it today.

I was 11 in 1969. My Mom had 1969 Bonneville, my step Father had a star Chief, and a Catalina. I further was able to take my drivers test in my Mother’s Bonneville. Then I saw a 67 firebird wound up having it, then a 69 convertible that is my car today.

1971....

I wasn't going to be born until about 22 years later, and the two kids that would have me were only 6 and 2 years old....

Man, that GT-37 sounds old, now!

2001....

I was 8 years old, and was into cars already, although I didn't know much about them. Definitely loved monster trucks around that time.

My car and I share the same birth year, 1969.

I was likely filling a diaper while mine was being built. Funny thing is, I sometimes still do when I drive it. I guess it brings out the best in me.

My oldest brother got his first car in 64, it was a 56 ford and he was always under it and I wanted to be just like him.
Our backyard was full of cars from the time I was 4 until about 13 both brothers eventually lost interest but I never did.
