Can you Identify these wires
I need to know what these wires are and they are located around the transmission.. The first 2 are different than the second 2. It's a 66 LeMans 326 4 speed.

The other plug-in should have 2 wires in it. To me it looks like one end of the extension section of harness that goes down to the switch on the side of the transmission. That switch would be on a 4 speed Muncie car; it turns on the back-up lamps. That connector goes up on the firewall and on a car I have many years go it mostly rests in the depression of the bellhousing in & around behind the distributor.

Hard to tell from the pic, but doesn't look like the BU light connector.
The switch on the trans if OE should have a long lead on it that you would clearly see. Trace it back/up and you should be able to ID.

Thanks, did that come out of the Chassis shop manual and if so what page? The left hand of the page was chopped off.

The photo in post #6 does not looks like it is from any shop manual. It looks like the paper directions for an add-on accessory back up lamp kit.
In 64 and 65 on the A body series cars back up lamps were an extra cost option. You could order those on your new car from the factory, for sure but they also had a kit where the selling dealer could install those for you for some money.

Correct that sheet was from a kit, just to show the leads on the switch.
This is why the wire shown appears to be not for the BU lights to me. If it is then the switch lead should reach up above the rear of the engine on the firewall where it would be connected.
