So, I am familiar with forums. I have owned at least one Pontiac continuously since 1997, 79 T/A with an Olds engine and that's one reason I bought it, plus it was asking $800 and I paid $600. My grandfather was an Oldsmobile man and my father had a couple of Olds when I was young too.

My complete Pontiac lifetime rundown.

I had a red 73 Ventura given to me by my great aunt who lived in Atlantic Beach just outside of Jacksonville, Florida. 32k miles, 350 Pontiac engine, auto, and always parked outside in the driveway two blocks from the beach when she became to old to drive in 1979. I was 17 and on the drive back to Dallas, Texas it became apparent that even with the low miles the salt air had done some damage. The turn signal quit in Mississippi. I got out took a look and the only thing holding one side of the front bumper off the pavement was the turn signal wires. The mounts on that side were rusted through. Rigged it up with a coat hanger, got in the car and put my foot through the rubber matted floorboard to the ground. I was heartbroken but made it home. My Dad was quick to tell me that car was very rusty and wasn't in the cards for me. He did put the interior, which was mint, and the drivetrain in a 74 Nova for my sister's first car a few years later.

I had a light metallic green 77 Grand Prix with a 350 for about a month that I bought to flip in the early 90s.Paid $400 sold for $1450. Always liked Pontiacs but liked many other brands too.
These are the Pontiacs I have right now, in order of longevity of ownership.

Bought from Auto Trader in 1997. 1979 Trans Am WS6, 403, auto, tilt and A/C no tops or power options, silver with a red hobnail interior. Hackberry tree blew down in a storm in May 1998 in front of my parent's house in the circular drive where I had parked it to have a new windshield installed by Safeco while I was at work. The new glass was in the car all of 45 minutes when it was crushed, roof to the dash. It's a miracle I was able to keep this car stored all these years and it’s still stored in a building I built for it.

Bought 1999 from The Dallas Morning News classifieds. 1979 Trans Am 403, auto, Mayan? red with red hobnail interior. All original down to the 8 track radio, wheels, paint and interior. Tires and battery are all that i can see has been changed. The key cylinder stuck when original owner started the car and car started but starter stayed engaged. Fire started in wire harness from starter, burned up to wiper motor, HEI and rear corner of the shaker before battery cable was cut and it was put out. It burned the carb and brake booster plus wiring harness on the under hood side. Bought it cheap for parts car but is a much nicer car than the WS6 tree car and couldn't bring myself to take it apart so it's in the building next to the other T/A.

2004, bought on eBay, 1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am. My wife wanted a fun car so I found it for auction, not many bids. Made what I thought was a low end cheap bid I was sure wouldn't get it, at $6600. I was wrong and flew to Miami to drive it home. Second time my wife drove it she got sideways, car is not exactly stock, lots of aftermarket speed parts. Scared her, she was done. Put it in a garage of a rent house I own and started a few times the first few years, then next thing you know 17 years have gone by. Recently recommissioned and driven by me, wife still not interested.

May 2023 old friend calls says he is selling his 77 Trans Am. Cameo white, firethorn red custom vinyl interior, loaded no t-tops, he has had since 199? and it hasn't moved in his garage in over 12 years. He took interior out but he saw floorboard rust holes and freaked out and did nothing more.(it's Texas, rust?!) He had removed the rear spoiler and fender flares and put all this in his attic with the interior. He then parted a 1978 T/A to repair the 77 and put nearly the complete car in pieces in a shed in his back yard. All offered for a price that I couldn't say no. This is the car that brings me here to you fine people.

January 2024, another friend says he needs to sell his son's car because his son bought a Mustang. 1987 GTA tuned port 350, white with a brown? leather interior. Loaded no t-tops. Too cheap to say no again, actually runs and drives.

I may have a problem with buying Trans Ams. But the 77 is the only one I have with an actual Pontiac engine and I have questions I will post soon. I did get it running and got some help and parts from Cliff Ruggles to get the original quadrajet rebuilt and the Edelbrock carb removed.

Been poking around the site and using search to learn some stuff. Seems like the site to be on for Pontiac. I'll get some pictures and separate threads for the cars I'm working on now, eventually. I'm more of a work on my cars and research what I need than a typist or photographer. I know this long intro says otherwise but it did rain here this afternoon and drove me inside.
