Default 1967 GTO Vent window seal replacement

Ok guys , how are you getting the new weather seals to stay in place. I got the seals from our host, they don't come with the retainer clips and you have to use your own, which I did, I flared out the prongs that pinch against the side of the channel and I pressed them in place, I even tapped on the area above the four clips but they just won't grab and hold the seal in place. Has anyone tried gluing them in place with silicone and if so, what did you use.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've had excellent results with 3M weatherstrip adhesive, the black stuff, not the ugly yellow stuff.

Thumbs up GOOD STUFF...

... X2 on the 3M.
For tight spots, I use detail brushes to apply.

Coat both sides with the black 3M .....more is not better....just a thin coat on adjoining surfaces....let flash for a minute before putting together.

Thumbs up

08008 is a 5oz tube of Black
03602 is 1oz, Black, I prefer this size for small jobs and easy handling. Also less waste.

08001 is the Yellow.
