This is very sad indeed. I restored my first GTO in the mid 80's and if wasn't for people like Steve it would have been extremely difficult to find parts in those early days. I just finished my 65 and the majority of the new parts came from AMES Performance Engineering. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Rest in Peace Steve. Condolences and prayers to Steve’s family. I have never met Steve, but Ames has been a part of my Pontiac life for mannnny years. On all my calls in for parts and advice, Ames treated me with honesty, quality and consistent great service. Thanks Steve.

Rest in Peace Steve Ames: You helped save and restore many of our Pontiacs. We are forever grateful, and you will be missed.

Rest in Peace. Could not have accomplished many of my Pontiacs without him.

Such sad news. Prayers to Mr. Ames's family and friends. I've been an AMES customer for almost 40 years.....great service, great dedication to the hobby. He will be missed very much by all of us.
I lost a good friend the same way about 5 years ago....fell off a little 6 foot ladder, same result. Be careful, guys.

An incredible loss - my condolences to the family. He gave so much for the Pontiac hobby.
