I meet Steve in 1988 at Carlisle. Great guy with a tone of Pontiac knowledge. We all have many stories of how he helped us out. I was finishing up my 70 GTO and asked him if he had saddle carpet at Carlisle. Told me to follow him over the ACC vendor got my carpet from them and sold it to me for his price. Just one of many things Steve has done for a lot of us.
So get well my friend get strong and see you at Carlisle.

Apparently Steve fell, hit his head, had an internal brain bleed, had surgery, and now is in a coma.
This is per an email from Marge Sawruk dated yesterday afternoon. K

Get well soon Steve. I hope he recovers. We're all pullin for ya.
BTW... as I heard years ago, from talking to him, he had sold Ames Performance and was only making restoration parts to sell. I was trying to get him to make the parking light lenses for 66 and 67 GTOs in amber.

Terrible news.
We will hope the coma is one that was medically induced, to allow healing. Get well Steve! Jon

Prayers being sent, hope he pulls through.
My brother fell while roller skating a couple years ago and was in the hospital for 3 months. Other than losing his job to Covid, he's doing OK now.

Apparently he had fallen and hit his head and was in a coma. But he didn't make it through. Sucks. 20 years ago today my dad's best friend, a real car guy, passed away from lung cancer.
Mostly Fords as he had a Model T, 55 T-Bird, 1966 GT350H(SN1899) and a 1964 289 Cobra(CSX2284) and a 1972 Buick 455 GS Convertible. |
