It looks amazing!

I'd like to go to Norwalk if they have it this year. It isn't too far from Port Clinton and Camp Perry where they hold the National Matches at the the same time. Do most people drive or tow their cars there?

The bulk of the trailers are in the pits with the race cars. Most of the guys that show their cars are confident enough that their Pontiacs can go anywhere on their own power.

If you have a show car, and you’re staying the weekend and staying at one of the many hotels near by, you can leave your trailer and drive a few miles to the show, the cars usually stay in place locked in with security at night, so you’d need a ride back to the hotel.

There is a big field across the street that a lot of trailers park n also. Show cars go through a quick inspection at registration and are parked by classes, judging is usually all day Saturday and awards are Sunday.

Thanks, Got something to think about. Just got my Firebird last year. It's my first Pontiac after owning 1st and 5th gen Chevy f-bodies. She's roadworthy for hiway cruising with 2.56 gears behind a 400HO and will still turn a head or two but not show quality yet. Only problem is I have no idea of what work has been done inside the engine in the past 53 years so I'm trying to learn all I can about Pontiacs and figured Norwalk would be a good place to go to meet people, get some leads, take pictures and maybe get some parts.

Lots of everything, no matter what your interest is.
Records are set on the race track.

I agree with Norwalk for a Pontiac event,
But I more enjoy running Pontiac power at open venues- beating up on other brands at tractor pulling and landspeed racing.

Well, sounds like Norwalk is a must then! Sure enough, if we are allowed to travel, I'll book a last minute trip over for the event this summer.

Opening things up a bit, what other car events do you enjoy?

If your into funny cars jet cars and the best fireworks I have ever personally seen Norwalks Night Under Fire is a great family event. I tell people if your not a real drag racing fan or have not been to the track much it’s a great event to start.

That event is a sell-out affair. 40,000 + attendance, so be prepared for that. It is a chance to get up close to 4-6 NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car teams and drivers. It's just fun play time for those teams, so they are relaxed and willing to spend lots of time with fans. Huge fireworks, race car parade. We ran the event as a featured car a couple times. It is a tightly choreographed affair, right down to the second, literally. This includes the introduction music and the exact second to crank your engine. If you miss your call by 5 seconds, you are out. For a first time drag race, it can be a life changing experience.

Night Under Fire and the Pontiac event are usually on back to back weekends. If you're making the trip over here, you won't regret staying for both events.

What are your favourite Pontiac themed shows or race weekends to go to?

Hoping you are enjoying your '64! I saved that Catalina from being crushed
in the 1990s and got it running and sold it around 2014. Owned it close to 20 years here at Pontiac Heaven in Arizona. Installed/swapped the 400thm in her.

Thanks for saving that car Steve, and so many others. Rust free sheet metal and frames are so rare here in the midwest. Pontiac Heaven says it all. Also another REAL Pontiac event for those in the West.

Does the Pontiac Heaven still have a yearly event? , I have it on my bucket list, I was keen to help out as I remember Steve was asking for volunteers.
