1967 GTO R-12
Does anyone still have their original compressor with the sticker showing the required amount of R-12 when recharging the system? Thanks

As an aside, Ames sells reproduction stickers for the A/C compressor (see page 325 in the G35 catalogue). This doesn't help answer your question about capacity, but I just you might be interested to know that you can get a new sticker if you want one.

No, for Tempest it’s 3.75 lbs. Full-size cars used 4.12 lbs.

Glad we got that sorted.
Maybe a clarification is in order for future readers: if you have a modern parallel-flow condenser, you'll need considerably less refrigerant than specs show. Somewhere around 2.0 to 2.5 lbs. I learned this the hard way when I converted my '71 Chevy pickup to a PF condenser and initially overcharged it (I kept R-12). |

Hgerhardt...can you elaborate on the "parallel flow" condenser? I put a new condenser in when I completed my 67 in 2013. How do I know if it is or is not "parallel flow"? Thanks for the info.

If there are round tubes at the ends of the condenser which do a 180, then that is the original style serpentine. If there are 3/4" dia tubes arranged vertically on each end, it's a parallel-flow (PF). All modern cars use PF condensers because they're more efficient than the serpentine round-tube units.
