Default Trans Am Formula steering wheel fit a 65?

I have an extra Trans Am collar and Formula wheel will it fir the 65 GTO non tilt column? Original wheel REAL rough. I slid the GTO wheel on the extras 79 Camaro column I have so splines seem the same.

It fits.

My ‘64 had that exact setup when I first bought it and I raced it for many years that way.

Original collars have a fairly widespread coating of paint on the backside. My only concern would be if one used the wrong horn contact pieces. Over the years have had a 67 project car & a 68 parts car that prev owner had swapped on a thick Formula wheel. At least with the '67 GTO, the canceling cam & horn worked.

I installed an early 70s Formula wheel on my 64 Tempest while I restore the cracked original wheel. Works great, horn, signals, etc.

They fit most GM, AMC and even some MOPARs. I used 1 years ago on my 1963 Chevy pickup.
