Hoping for next month. I'm chipping away at it.

Switched from my old 7AL3 to a Grid on the assumption that I'll need a curve on the starting line. Also added a data logger which took much longer than it should have.

Work schedule has been crazy as well. Gotta make hay while the sun is shining.

Got a couple shakedown passes today at Norwalk. They run their points program on the 1/8 mile for Pro and Super Pro.

I was afraid of the car going on the bumper or blowing the tires of so we started with 10 degrees out at the hit and ramped back in over 1.2 seconds.

It left like a dream with no drama whatsoever.

I had in issue with my shifter since I tried to retain the factory console and shifter and I couldn't get the transmission to shift into 3rd gear. It was on the limiter at 8200 4.4 seconds into the run.

It went 1.25 / 3.53 / 5.52 at 114 mph and then 1.24 / 3.49 / 5.48 at 113 mph

I'm pretty happy so far and can't wait to see how much more I squeeze out of it.

Facebook video if you can view it. I'll try to get it on YouTube

Yes... I'm very pleased that it's down to 3160lbs.

I think an 8.3x is attainable when I go the full quarter.

When do you hope to get more runs in?

This weekend. More 1/8 mile. If not, next weekend for a 1/4 mile timeslip.

YouTube link to 5.48 pass

I know I rolled it in deep enough to kill a like bit.
It was slow to the 330 compared to last week but made up those numbers by the 1/8.
Just need to put it all together.

A little update for those that are interested...

Started with a baseline from last year with a properly shifted 1/8 mile pass and went 5.36 at 129 with a 1.22 60ft

Then tinkered over 4 more runs with launch curve, tightening front shocks and adding a degree of timing.

Here's the last pass. 1.30 on the rear tires, 5.25 at 131

Lost maybe 20lbs and gave in to an air shifter so as not to "waste" more runs. I hated to give up the factory shifter but I did mount the new one in the factory console

So me not pulling it out of first at 6 grand has helped.

I also shortened the launch curve which picked up 8 numbers in the 330ft and that last run I added one degree of timing which was about 30lb/ft on the dyno.
That picked up 4 more numbers at the 330ft.

I can't reference the 60ft because as I started getting after it down low it was not tripping the beams with the front tires

That's a badass Buick! Never thought they had it in them but a low 5 in the 1/8 n/a is nasty...
