WOW! That's a lot of glass. I have actually never ever seen one of those before.

Surprised the juvenile delinquents haven't broke out the glass.

That's bizarre. US hearses usually didn't have that much glass in them, it kind of looks like something that would have been used in another country somewhere.

The more I look at it, the stranger it is...the car's cab and front clip appear to be early 1950s, but the tailfins and the trim appear to be some conglomeration of 1958 parts from multiple makes. The taillights may be tri-five Chevy, and the eyebrows over the headlights appear to be modified as well.

The quarter panel trim looks like it's from a 57 Pontiac.

I bet it was for people of wealth or a high standing status, and possible used in a honorable funeral precession where the deceased was paraded through the town? Maybe? I’d love to see it all restored.

That's my guess. Some countries and cultures make a lot bigger deal out of the processions than we typically do in the US.

The front clip could be from '47, but the rest of it is definitely from the late 50's, I think 58 also.

Here's the Buick body lines from 1947:

A '47 Buick wagon :

Really not a typical U.S. styled hearse with the huge amount of glass.

I don't care for the mix of body parts myself.

It’s supposedly a 1947? I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe it was custom built especially for its purpose with all that glass. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t something that came this way from the factory.

"Professional cars" weren't factory made. There were a couple of custom shops in this country that built them. Meteor was one that comes to mind, and I know there were a couple more but their names escape me at the moment. Hearses in Asia are very elaborate, more so than this one. It would make sense if it did come out of Greece. I believe the Europeans followed suit as well.
