Default 50mm Roller Cam Bearings

In my Ia2 Aluminum Block I have 50mm Roller cam bearings. I am using the Simms Timing deal with Torrington set up.I have noticed some very minute shavings in the oil, Non metalic.I don't think the front cam bearing has any positive oil feed to the thrust side of the cam plate. Is it necessary to have a small groove in the block to feed oil to the thrust area. I haven't pulled the timing cover to see if there is any wear. Also to check Cam end play. It was my understanding that the other roller cam bearings are pressure fed with oil.I wanted to know if Mods are required to the front only area of the Block to feed positive lube to the Cam plate. Any Info on this would be appreciated.

I put a small slot going from the oil hole the block forward so oil could leak under the bearing to the plate.

I suspect that might be the issue. Will have to take a look.

That's what we do. First use of roller bearings years ago we lost a thrust plate on the dyno. (Non-roller plate)

Confirmed there is oil feed to the thrust. I wasn't sure because my short block was done at Butlers.

We also had to get oil to that area. I posted on this awhile back.

Photos? Trying to visualize where the oil slot or hole would be added?
