Default I lost my brother

My only remaining brother, Joe passed away last Thursday. Only the week before I had driven from my home in Georgia to Kentucky, picked him up and went back to our hometown in Maryland for a few days to visit. It was my birthday present to him. He turned 62 0n Sept.16th.
We had a good trip and had some heart to heart talks. I took him home last Sunday and came back to my home. I talked to him Tuesday and everything seemed fine. He told me he had just signed up for social security and would draw his first check soon.
I was completely blind sided by the call from my sister-in-law who Joe lived with ( she was married to my other brother who passed in 2010) telling me she found him when she got home from work about 7:30pm.
The coroner said it was probably a heart attack and he went quickly.
I wish I had spent more time with him but I did get to see him one last time and that will have to do until I meet him and the rest of my family some day.
Tell your family you love them.

My condolences for your loss.

Brings back memories of losing my older brother on October 12th, 1993 at the age of 46.

We were together for a family get together to celebrate my dad's 65th birthday almost exactly 26 years ago. Two days later, Pat died of a heart attack on my dad's actual 65th birthday.

Sorry for your loss., I'm sure it's very hard, you don't expect to lose a loved one at that age, I'm glad that you recently had quality time with him.

WTF ... guy works his whole life and is right on the cusp of retirement and relaxation.

Very sorry for your loss ... excellent you got to see him again.

Haven't talked to my brother in over 40 years, he was not a good brother to me ... count your blessings that you have a good one.

I am so very, very sorry. Reading this made me feel so very sad. Yet, I feel that you also were able to grab hold of your brother and love him in that last trip together. And that is a wonderful thing. I wish you peace my friend. You are right, we must love our family as they leave us all too soon.
