Biggest Stroke IA2 Std Cam Tunnel
I have a tall deck IA2(11.00 deck height) with standard height cam tunnel. For future reference, what’s the biggest arm that will fit in it? I had less than stellar results(piston scuffing) with a 4.75 stroke in a standard deck height motor, but have more room to work with on this motor. No immediate build plans, but the recent post on a 4.5 stroke crank got me thinking about this again. The torque on the street with the 4.75 crank was unreal. Like to go bigger if possible. Will run steel rods.

Throw away the cam. Get busy designing/building OHC Pontiac heads.

Run boost out of something for more torque with less CID which will also save you the top end HP loss from the added friction of those long NA stroke motors.
A scant 8 psi of boost will leave relling from the torque production level!

4.750, maybe 4.800. A lot depends on the counter weights of the crank and the skirt of the piston vs the crank and the counter weights and rods to the cam. Tough question to answer.
