I finally got a 72 grand prix running, its not been driven much in the last 3 years, long story, I am looking for tips or hints or advice before it is put on the road.

Yes, typical maint stuff, hoses, rad flush, maybe carb rebuild, brake flush, ignition tune up, check suspension (tie rods, ball joints, idler, shocks, etc), belts, tires, wheel bearings, engine/trans mounts, the usual.

Probably take a tank or two before it gets 'flushed' out.

More so than running, brakes and suspension can make you wreck, other mechanical will only leave you stranded.

You probably need a battery.

But really, pretty much everything has been covered. Make sure it has adequate brake pressure. Change fluids, make sure indicators and lights work. Quickest way to get in an accident is to not have your brake lights functional. Due the diligence so when you get out on the road you can relax and drive instead of worry behind the wheel.
