Come on Chris, death taxes and the pure stock drags lol.
I'd say you need to make it next year, so we can run our GT-37s together. But if the planets align, I may debut a new car next year. But I will run my GT-37 again when the repairs are completed.

Great time ! Even with the air not being there on Saturday. First time out for me. 4 test passes on Friday and won my shoot out in 2 Saturday. Need a few more tuning passes, timing changes that I did not get to but all in all it went well for my first time with this car. Great to visit with you Mario !

Came back Sunday, Ron and I entered our cars at the GTOAA all Pontiac Regional Meet and took first and second in class. All lettered up and some rubber still on them.

what a great time flogging the "rent-a-racer". Got the 1979 Trans Am 400 4sp car to qualify at 14.97 @ 94 and won my shootout against a 70 El Camino 396 4sp car.

Mike, we missed you. Are you and Chris bringing a car at the same time???

I also made the drive down to the GTOAA show and met up with Ron and Jody with my "rent-a-racer" Yes, the lettering was still on the car and the rubber still on the quarters.

As Chris, Jody and Mario have previously shared, the event was great. Except for an early Saturday morning rain shower (4 am), we had great weather, 128 cars, over 1000 spectators, and great racing. The clouds cleared by 10 am and the skies were sunny the rest of the day. There were many new cars at this years event and I talked to at least a dozen guys planning on bringing new cars to next years event. We had spectators from Spokane, WA that decided to experience it in person rather than reading about it in the magazines and were so impressed they are bringing more friends next year....bucket list material for muscle car fans.

There are pumps under the pavement that keep the pits dry during rain events, but one of the racers looking for power, inadvertently turned off the power to the pumps and lights, and forgot to return the disconnect switch to the 'on' position and we were greeted to standing water in the pit area when we arrived early Saturday morning. Ron Hammer unfortunately had is trailer in the lowest part of the pavement and had water up the rear door floor. Fortunately, all was good both inside and out. Ron races in '71 455 HO GTO that turns consistent 12.70's at 105 mph.

Here is the ultra terrifying pit guard dog Lenny you have to keep a vigilant eye out for...he's intimidating to be sure (LOL).

The other pond in the pits was behind the Buicks. I said it was the Buick Boat Dock... someone else said it was the Buick Riviera!!!

Thanks.

Looks like the next stop for the "rent-a-racer" is MCACN, Pure Stock Drags display. How cool is that? Kurt, who owns the car, is also going to have his 69 Hurst Olds there at the same display. Guess I'm keeping the T/A a little longer huh.

I guess you are. It will be nice having it there to show people that the years have expanded and that you don't have to have an L88 to race there.

Or a RA II 400 Firebird - even though Rick doesn't race this one anymore he did run a best of 11.18 @ 122 mph in Pure Stock beating out a L88
