Upper radiator hose for a 69 tempest
Does any body know if an upper radiator hose is available for a 69 tempest. Who makes them and what's the part number. I already have a generic ribbed radiator hose.
Can one be made from a section of a v 8 hose or from a grand prix upper hose? |

Generally speaking all the hoses I have found involve cutting to fit. For my firebird this is the case. The good news is they generally come out pretty good. As good as a factory original, no but I think they work well

No ac. Looked at rockauto but don't have an original to compare. Just need a part number that works

FWIW...
Exact fit hoses are always hard to locate.
I too look for longer size hoses with curves/bends that are close and make my own. I was able to secure a few NOS and I now use these as a template. Most of my local auto parts stores are open to let me look through their inventory when needed.

Rockauto is a fail. Tried buying both hoses and upper one was not even close. Trimming would not have worked an kinking hose would have blocked flow. Image in description looked correct but the hose sent looked nothing like it.
Lower hose looked nothing like what I have. It looked like image but also could not be trimmed to fit and contour was off just enough to also kink it and constrict coolant flow Sigh. Looks like I am going with Jeff's idea |
