Thank you for the information provided Keith, I appreciate the insight into the process, it's very important to point out there is a formal and proper procedure to production, while also acknowledging that what's handed down as law on paper can not always be 100% reflected in the end product.

That being said, it's been mentioned there are slight variations in placement, I couldn't agree more, but at the same time in reflection of your comments, if a template wasn't used the operator or lineman would have placed it as close as possible to the correct location specified by the "PAD-PDM"

Point being, there were two specific and different locations the decal was applied according to literature and pictures, your summation helps demonstrate a change to the "PAD-PDM" at some point in production. Documenting when that occurred would help insure us all an authentic restoration.

I'll bet there were some very nervous people in marketing, 'maybe even knew your father', that were wondering if this new graphic callout thing was going to fly, in actuality he could have been the one to say, " WTH? That looks like chit! If your gonna put a sticker on the dam thing, at least center it up on the light, OMG!"
