What is the correct Drum/Hub Style Assembly for a 69 GTO
Need some help figuring out what is the correct drum/hub assembly for my 69 Judge project. Manual drum brakes.
I believe that all drum/hub assembly's were swaged together in 69 as the 2 I have are currently, the 3rd example is not. Were they different for Bendix/Delco? The one in the first 2 pictures I believe is the correct style. Its a BUDD and has the correct date code for the car. Also has a smooth round exterior hub. The one in pics 3 and 4 has a different fin pattern and the hub is notched not smooth. The 5th example drum has additional holes and was not swaged? Can anyone identify what is the correct Drum/Hub assembly for a late build 69 Judge built in Michigan? Any help is appreciated. |

The only part number I have for 69 regular production manual front drums is 9798690 superseded by 481832.

My 69 nov 68 built in Fremont, has both styles on car. Was all original and I bought from Original owner back in 2004. Still on car now. If your in need of drums, a have several originals I would sell cheap

That’s interesting. Are there other examples of original cars having different appearing drums. They function the same but just appear different. This was a Michigan built car with only 56,000 miles and everything else seems to be original to the car.
I’ll get back to you on drums once I figure out what I need. |
