Default is there a free site to get a vin check

As some of you know I got screwed REALLY bad on a out of state buy from the seller selling me a stolen car ,vin swapped car. Ill never buy out of state again. Im at the point where i want a 79/81 ta again.

I found a 80 local thats all original with correct vin rivets also LOL. Car really seems legit.
I want to run a vin check. Paranoid? yes.

No , thats just being safe with all the crooks around these days. You just want to make sure what your buying is going to be yours after the sale. When you get ready to buy it ask them if it's ok to have a state police come out to verify the vin & check the car over before you give up your hard earned $$$$. If they seem a bit nervous then you'll know something may be up ,, but if not get them out to run the vin to be sure & then lay down those $$$$'s .
