Well, another set-back. Dad was in the local ICU for 14 days and did not make it. He passed 2 days ago. Less than 4 months since my mom passed. While he was there, we had a good talk about cars and he gave me the impedous to get the two '63's finished. As an aftermath, I also inherited a few of his cars; one of which is his cherry '76 GP that has been sitting since '82 in his garage.

Man, sorry to hear that. I lost my Grandpa on Wed and am on my way up there tomorrow for the service. I could not imagine loosing my father. I am sure he will be watching to see how things turn out with the 63's!

Interesting though, I will get to put my hands on a project 65 2+2 vert 4 spd (claimed) HO while I am up there.

Ziggy, my condolences. We lost my uncle Dec 24th. Dad ( his older brother...87) has taken it well. But one feels the hands of time are starting to work against us.

Default update 1/19/15

My son and i got the car dusted off and cleaned up. Moved it on to our new to us 4 post. Welded in a new plate on the lower crossmember and polished up the radirs. Hopefully today im going to rework the rear framerails to fit the bigger tires. heres a few pics. Just cleaning and polishing gave me some motivation.

I hauled some serious a$$ this weekend on the 64. Interior is completely stripped out, steering column and dash or on the table. I am going from red interior with white headliner to black interior black headliner. Black exterior. Floor is mint, firewall is mint. HVAC is ruined, fiberglass is broke and the side wall where the a/c evaporator is, is rotted out so i am on the hunt for another hvac unit, and the bracket that holds it to the side of the car. If anyone has one. i was hoping to have the interior completed for Norwalk but that may be a tall order.

How we all coming along? Unfortunately my last update was the last time I touched my 62. I think that was over 2 months ago. I have to finish up some other projects before I can get back to it. Maybe I will order some parts I need.

Kind of the same here. Only change is that I am now paying someone to get the body patch panels done along with get the entire body in primer. I am going to change directions on this build a little bit, but overall should still be a solid ride............when it is done!!!

All the patchwork is done in the interior with the same exception of the hvac. Laid down some Dtm epoxy primer on the floor and package tray front and rear windows are out now to get some chromax mosaic super jet black for the openings. Hopefully ready for July long weekend

Ziggy ... truly sorry to hear about the loss of your parents. Just read this. There is never a good time to lose that you love and care about. Never. I trust that you'll be able to move forward and have great memories to help you as you move through life.

Post Need more hours in the day...

No car progress, because I have been very involved with helping my mother-in-law's healing from a diverticulitis / bowel resection surgery. She's on the mend and with the weather also getting better, I am focusing on getting the Wreck Room USABLE.

My (updated) 2015 goal list is:

- Convert the drive-on platform for one of my 4-post lifts into a raisable storage platform for stuff (extra engines, rear ends, big and/or heavy stuff)

- Do/ditch/delegate a bunch of tools, parts, wall art and bric-a-brac that is occupying the floor space under the other two 4-post lifts so I can put CARS (not bits and pieces) on and under them

- Finish insulating and paneling the walls

- Build and install a guardrail/fence for the staircase and catwalk

- Plan and plumb compressed air lines and electrical conduit

- Install PERMANENT lighting (I have had enough of clip lights and extension cords!)

- Install the water heater and get hot water circulating in the floor before the snow falls late this year

- Part out the 4dr HT Catalina

- Get the other ambulance (parts car) and begin making one car from the two

Here's some restoration motivation for you guys.

On May 31, 2014, Tim Stöllman in Kil, Sweden crashed his 1965 Parisienne.

The car got hit pretty bad and the insurance company wanted to scrap the car.

Tim said no and rolled up his sleeves

44 weeks later, a couple of days ago, he was back on the road.

It wasn't a full resto, he just wanted to get the car back in traffic

Tim's post invigorated me. I will start back up and hopefully finish the Cat Conv in May, definitely by the summer. Planning on dedicating a few weeks in May to wrap her up. Hopefully, everything will get done. Just a bunch of little things I never got to as my time was re-directed elsewhere when my folks passed.

If your curious, my list includes: install the window stops and adjust window movement, install re-plated/repaired top/windshield clamps, further align the windows with the convertible top to get better seal (now that I have the top clamps back), swap out the old power seat mechanism/track with the rebuilt power driver's seat mechanism, install new choke line and pull plate bracket for carb and adjust (it got kinked when the car was apart), re-secure VOE vacuum lines, check for possible crimps in current trunk line or install new vacuum line for trunk release and install new wire assembly for tilt turn signal actuator. Then, I will be near done (you are never 100% done as you always fine something to improve) and able to enjoy.
