66 LeMans Question
Hello guys,
I found a 66 LeMans that appears to be original. It is a 326 2 bbl with an M20 4 speed. I would imagine a 2 bbl car would have a 3 speed. Was it just an option/upgrade to get a 4 speed with the 2 bbl carb? Thanks

In 1966, the only 2bbl option was 3 of them....

Sigh. Yeah, and all of those cars (67-69) had automatic transmissions. The car in question is a 1966 LeMans, as the 242 VIN was already a thing then.

Standard fare was 3 speed manual on the column for 66 Lemans and GTO. -- i didn't realize that about 66 GTO's until recently. From there you could get 3spd in the floor for few more dollars, or 4spd for a good chunk of cash. Add a console for another wad of dollar bills. |
