Subject: 1970 GTO Turn signal flasher. Round or rectangular?

For an original restoration, 1970 GTO.

On my car the turn signal flasher is round and sits in the correct bracket.

Looked in the 1970 Assembly Manual as well as the Shop Manual. it seems like the turn signal flasher is rectangular?

Looking up part number and other sources it says GM#6450148 and later 6450167. They are rectangular - anybody knows more and want to chime in?

Any info appreciated.
