I feel there is a need for an intake that would fill the gap between the RPM and the Victor, like what the TQ II was supposed to do. I guess what I am saying is do we need an open plenum intake that isn’t as “big” as the Victor? I have never used a Warrior intake before, would this fit the bill? We are talking out of the box stuff, not ported beyond port matching. Would some buy a Warrior or say a Street Dominator type intake if they were under $300?

Alex, just for instance. We found out last season that Pontiac Dudes TA ran about the same times with a Victor and a Dominator as it did with a Warrior and an 850...

The warrior (or old Doug Nash) is a very good intake, just a little pricey.

Why don't you like the Torker II?

Larry from what I have seen the TII seems to work better with 400/428 ci motors than 455's.

Craig's Bird is running Low 10's with a 400 and a TII N/A.

(Not to take anything away from the TII, People like Lee Atkinson have found it to work very well for them.)

WARPed, How about a rebirth of the Holley Street Dominator with a few mods thrown in. I reworked one mildly and picked up 2 tenths over the T1 I was running previously. I think the SD is a great baseline for development.

I liked the original Torkers for 455's much more than the TII's. I've got a Street Dominator but I've never run it on a 455.

hmmm...i have a warrior intake, flanged for a single Q-jet and have yet to use it. the plenum of the warrior seems shallow compared to other intakes. the runners seem to start big at the plenum and narrow-down at the heads. maybe it was designed this way to provide extra volume that the plenum gave up.
Wonder how it would compare to a Victor or TorkerII? anyone have experience with this?

I too like the Torker I for the 455. Mine seem to work well, after removing way more than the HO Racing "Tuning Secrets" suggested.

I'd like to see a Dual-Quad single plane Spreadbore Intake.

That would fill the gap between the valvecovers smartly.

I'd like to see cones, pyramids and such Insertable devices for the Intake floors....Diverters. I suspect they would help broaden powerband and balance mixture on single-plane open plenum Intake manifolds.

I am currently running a Warrior-this intake works best with as much spacer as you can run, seems maybe the plenum is too small. Mine is a spreadbore with a 3/4 adapter to a squarebore then a 1/2 N2O plate. The I compared this intake with a T1 a Street Dominator, a RPM and a Victor. The Warrior was about a .10 faster with all other variables like timing, temp, track etc the same. All the intakes were only port matched to a 1233 FelPro gasket. The combo is a mild 421. I would like to see a new intake on the market. Something affordable.
