I have a decent hood, I see them here and there on Craigslist

W50 is the 2-tone option with band under doors and large Formula lettering between 76-78. For 79-81 all models were 2-tone, but the W50 option was what still got the lettering and hood scoop colour, it wasn't so much of an option by then.

Here's what a 79 looks like. This was my old Formula. I had it from 1986 until 2006. It is now in Texas.

not many people realize that there was a shift in production numbers;
From 1970-1974 the Formula outsold the Trans Am, and the TA was the lowest selling model;
after 1974 this flipped, and the Formula became the lowest selling model.

They are out there, but to this day they are regularly getting parted and or scrapped for restoring TA's.

My cousin had a 78 w72 4speed ws6 white and gold w50 with t roofs. Prairie farmer ordered it, actually his cousin, with tall gears. Definitely a highway car to make those long straight roads shorter. I tried to buy it in its almost a abandoned rusy stage he wanted way to much money. I think it's overgrown by trees and weeds now. It used to look so good and cruised so well.

I remember it having 15x8 snowflakes and they weren't the type to modify cars. I could be wrong though. It's not the first time.

Back in 79 I knew someone with this exact car. Fisher T top car with the one year only 78 WS6 gold wheels and deluxe interior. All original.

I believe ws6 was available on both TA's and Formulas.

Per this article:

The legendary WS6 performance package, including 8-inch-wide "snowflake" wheels, was available on Trans Ams in 1978, but not on Formulas until '79.

Saw a 78 yellow/black one in a CT car show that had a 305 Chevy engine with a 4spd. I’m guessing it was a Canadian car?
