Default NOS 69 Parking Light Lenses

I was ready to bid on this auction, but the price surprised me. I believe the reproductions have IP70 in them and there are no lenses reproduced with the original 69 script in them. Is that right? I'll just use my mint used ones--who needs a spare set............?

Those are repo's with the 1970 script in them. I don't believe you can get lenses with the script used in the 69's unless you find some used or NOS. The script is molded into the lense when it is made.

There was a reason those sold for over $400--although the price seemed really high for such a small difference.

You can see from the bidding it was a high demand piece. So, whats that say about correct NOS parts?

I bought a pair of complete turn signal assemblies for my 70 GTO in the 80's & I think they came with the 69 date coded lens. I need to dig those out of the box they're stored in to check.....may just have to ebay 'em if that's what they bring.

I bought mine NEW as well from Dealer in 1981 (Complete set RH and LH) and they were 1970...Still remember I paid a whopping $110 for both....Should have bought a few

Had three nos '69 GTO P/L lens, sold them in late 90's. They weren't anywhere cheap then, near same money. Darn shame someone can't repro them in a high quality form with the '69 dates. Its not like they're a huge taillight, which due to poor plastic resin choice, turn pink.

Same deal with blackwall polyglass or wide ovals, why not repro them? Always the two things I get asked for from high point '69 Judge restorers.

Wow, Ive never bought a set of NOS lenses because of that 70 script (can't have a correct 69 car with a 70 part!). These NOS ones must be very early production.

btw...Has anyone ever figured out what the difference is? They must have changed something to bother changing the script?

I don't mind having reproduction parts on my car. I should look into selling some of my old parts to make coin for the new
