There were several different part numbers, probably 10 or more by Pontiac.

As to colors, Pontiac used Black, Brown, Red, Tan, and Yellow.

So I assume that the part number on the cam identifies different applications--unlike the numbers on the choke pulloffs since many of the pulloffs appear to use the same number and distinguish different applications with different colors.

Resurrecting an old thread. Thought I would post these photos for reference. Note that this choke pull off is embossed with 38842. Not sure why the photo of the choke pull off is upside down.
