Exclamation Measurable Snow 11-12-13

WTF! Went out first thing to meet one of my guys this morning at the commuter lot off the highway and had to drive around 2 accidents. Cold Front is plowing through and the temperature has dropped 15 degrees in the last two hours. Highway department has been caught completely off guard, no salt or sand anywhere. Forecasters said chance of snow showers....

That looks about like the amount of snow I have on my car and lawn today. Sucks!

You must be east of me. We had the snow yesterday. Left home at 5:30 AM to drive my wife to the airport and we already had an inch on the ground.

It was snowing hard enough that visibility was significantly reduced.

After leaving the airport, I made my normal Monday morning 150 mile commute to my first call in Algona, IA. From there I worked my way North to Fairmont, MN.

The snow was wet enough, and the temperature cold enough, that I had to clear my wheelwells out 3 times yesterday. When you go to turn right or left and you hear your tires grinding on the ice in the wheelwells - that's not a good thing...

We had some clouds in Minneapolis yesterday but no snow. Cold today (12 degrees when I left the house this morning) but sunny. It's supposed to be back up to near 50 on the weekend.

And damn glad for it! I hate in when they come out and bomb the streets with a heavy coat of sand and salt for an early season snow shower. That means the Pontiacs all get put away for the year. Not to mention what it does for the town's snow removal budget!

Not a trace of the "snow" left by mid day!

Yep, barely enough to cover the grass, yet all of the Krogers will be packed by idiots buying everything possible for it might be an entire hour before they can get to a store again.

That, and about 30% of the drivers seem to believe that if they drive faster than 10 mph on the highway, they'll die.

Roof mounted .50 cals should be legal at this time of the year around here.

We got the same thing. It was 47 yesterday morning and by early evening, we had the same amount of snow on the ground.

When I was a kid I loved to see the first snow. Today it just reminds me of the crap we have to endure until March. I want to live in TX or FL.

Just a few flurries here that melted as soon as they touched down. LOL Hey, it's still snow and counts.

I can't believe we got snow down here before Toronto has. LOL

Some of us don't want to wear shorts in November.

I enjoy my 4 seasons. I didn't enjoy living in Texas back in 1973, and 40 years hasn't changed my opinion.

At least where I live - when snow occurs - we know what to do with it. I seem to remember a fubared Super Bowl in Dallas a few years ago...
